The Skyline View is proud to announce that Irvin Castro is the first winner of the Editor’s Choice–Best Submitted Art competition.
When I first sat down to interview Castro, the first words that came out of my mouth were “Did you really make this?” I meant it not as an insult but out of sheer amazement at his impressive artistic talent.
When I asked Castro why he decided to submit his drawing, he stated that it was just for fun and that he didn’t think he would win. Fortunately for him, it was noticeable to the judging panel that he was an artist with a lot of talent. There were some very creative and wonderful pieces of art submitted this week and choosing the best one was no easy task. However, at the end, Castro’s obvious artistic abilities could not be denied.
We would like to thank any and all who submitted their creative pieces of art this week-the caliber of art was very high and if they are any indication of what’s to come, we are truly looking forward to next week’s new submissions. For those of you who entered this time and did not win, we highly encourage you to submit your work again soon.
To anyone out there who thinks they have what it takes to be the next winning artist featured in The Skyline View, definitely send us your artwork. Castro has set the bar high but we know there are other awesome artists out there.Again, we welcome anyone to turn in any and all creative works for a chance to be featured in The Skyline View!
Note: Unfortunately, due to insufficient amount of entries this print production we have decided not to name an “Editors’ Choice” for written creative works. We feel that since we did not get a good enough amount of entries that it wasn’t a fair competition.
