As the name itself suggests it’s a website with countless flash games that are indeed addicting. Their name alone is how they trap you, you think you can play one of their games and not get hooked.

But like we learned growing up you can’t just have one potato chip, and in similar form you can’t just play one of their games without becoming glued to your computer screen.

First founded in 2002, addictinggames became an instant hit, acquiring over 10 million visitors monthly. The website was started by Ira Willey and became one of the first “flash” gaming portals, popularizing flash portals much like NewGrounds.com’s videos.

What draws people to this site like moths to a flame, aside from it being free, is the many different genres of games, ranging from RPG style to racing even hilarious games where you have the option of throwing eggs, or tomatoes at Kanye West (hit him three times and Obama will call him a “jackass”). A wide majority of their flash games have some sort of comical slant to it which just makes it all the more addicting.

Sometimes you’ll find yourself wondering just how you got hooked on the game you were just playing, for so many hours. Sometimes the most addicting games are the ones that are pointless, or irrational and confusing or just plain stupid.

The addiction of this site comes In many forms; it could be because you want to see the ending of a story, because you cant quite figure out why your failing at such an easy task and you want to redeem yourself, it could be because whatever your playing is so gosh darn funny you want stop playing, but for most its simply to show whatever game their playing who’s boss. Either way, by the time you are done playing you realize three hours have passed you by and you suddenly find yourself unable to go cold turkey.
