New for Van’s Spring 2009 lineup is a different take on the classic lowtop – the Supercorsa brought by Vans Vault. These feature a basket-weave design around the entire shoe, along with the traditional rubber outsole we normally see with Vans. It is a welcome change in texture to the normally single material design that covers the outer. Look for the change in laces from flat to round, similar to old school penny loafers of before. This design should transcend generations, with people of different ages able to appreciate true quality in feel, look and comfort. Three color ways are available at launch – a rich brown, a creamy ivory, and a deep black.
Lastly, soon to be released is an ultra limited version of Nike’s Air Trainer 1, sporting the logo of the pride of the Philippines, Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao. The pound-for-pound world’s greatest fighter already has his signature lineup of Nike warm-up gear, and this version of the Air Trainer 1 sports his classic red print, in a shoe that will only be produced in 200 pairs worldwide. 100 of them will be given solely to Pac-Man himself, for distribution to his friends and family. The remaining 100 will be split amongst Niketown San Francisco and Las Vegas, as well as through Fatlace and UNDFTD for an expected release date of May 2. Expect these shoes to demand a pretty penny when sold out. If you’re looking for a pair, it is highly suggested to bring out the chairs and camp gear soon!
