It has been argued that college is one of the most stressful stages in one’s lifetime. Students often struggle to get through college, not only because it takes a great amount of dedication, but also because it can be really expensive and sometimes even impossible.
In today’s economy, it just does not get any easier for students. They not only have to worry about keeping good grades, but making sure they can afford college. As the state’s economy gets worse and worse by the day, so do the students’ pockets. Many students are being forced to turn to community colleges, and although it can be cheaper than four year universities, some still cannot afford it. I believe it is important for all students to unite and make their voice heard. Marching in March is a great way to represent those students of low income with big dreams. I am sure students mind paying more for school, because school is becoming more of a necessity. All students should have the chance to attend to school whether they can afford it or not. In reality most students cannot afford college, since they are in the process of receiving a degree, chances are that they do not have a well-paying job. Therefore, they should not be charged with huge amounts of money. The economic crisis of today has affected everyone. In particular, low-income families, this only makes it harder for them to succeed. Most of Skyline’s population is low-income, so it is very important for students to make sure they do as much possible to maintain the fees at an affordable price. In my opinion, the states’ money should be spent on education, because there is more profit that can be made from it. If people have better education with better paying jobs, than they will spend more and that way raise economy. March in March is a great opportunity not only for students to make their voice heard, but also a way to inspire students to stay in school. With so many problems, some students might think about dropping out, but events like this provide a sense of hope among them. As students unite and strongly fight for an essential right, such as education, it promotes among society to wake up and prioritize issues the right way.
