After having spent a couple of years at Skyline College, I gladly look forward to graduating on stage. Some think that because Skyline is a transition college, it’s not worth going through a formal graduation ceremony. I completely disagree.
If you are graduating at Skyline you deserve to be acknowledged for your hard work. One way or another, you put in valuable time to earn all your units and meet all your requirements. A formal graduation properly defines your achievements.
It’s wrong to say that Skyline is not a school worth participating in an on stage graduation ceremony at. Here at Skyline, we are blessed with low tuition fees and great teachers that work hard to provide students with the education they deserve. In fact, some of our teachers are probably better than those working at the thousand dollars a term colleges.
I don’t know about you, but the people in my life hassle me all the time for spending so much time at Skyline. I could care less. Right now I’m a Skyline student and because of our great campus I’m proud to say so.
Some people might be interested in attend graduation because they have never participated in one. Maybe they dropped out of high school and came to Skyline to make up for not having a diploma. Or maybe at the time they just decided they did not want to participate in previous graduations but want to make up the experience now.
If none of these reasons leave you satisfied to graduate on stage think about this; Graduations always lead to graduation parties. Long lasting memories carried along by plenty of pictures in a night you probably won’t remember the next morning.
In any case, if you have an opportunity to graduate on stage you shouldn’t pass it up. Though it may not be a once in a life time opportunity, you have definitely earned it through your hard work. So take the time to appreciate your hard work and walk across that stage.
