Moving the ball backwards for a total of two negative yards the entire first half, the Oakland Raiders certainly deserved the lopsided, scoreless loss at home to Matt Ryan and the Falcons. After promising drives in the 4th quarter, the scoreboard operator still had a slow night. Being handed the most lopsided loss this week, the Raiders’ solution of bringing in a new head coach certainly did not help.
Across the new to-be-built Bay Bridge, a much needed BYE week finally came to the bruised 49ers. While not on the field, they still found a way to lose as their division rival Cardinals won once more. Now tied at the bottom of a weak NFC West conference, seemingly nothing will help to salvage a season marred by the loss of both a head coach, and quarterback. They’ve got a chance to gain a little bit of respect against Warner and company, primetime, on Monday Night Football.
