College is no cakewalk; sometimes you may feel lost, to others, you may feel like you’re drowning in a sea of homework. For your information and to save you some trouble, we here at The Skyline View have compiled a list of tips that will help you make your way through college unharmed…for the most part.
1. Don’t be late to class: This may sound like common sense, but now that you’re in college, you won’t have people yelling at you when you are late. Your teacher A) won’t say anything or B) Just won’t let you into the room. Being late annoys a lot of teachers and it can really hurt your grade. It is also very immature.
2. Go to class: If you don’t go to class, you’re just wasting the money paid for the class itself. It is also a good way to pass the class. Also, if you don’t show up, the teacher has the right to kick you out of the class for the rest of the semester.
3. Ask questions and talk: Ask questions if you don’t understand something. Talk to your teacher about the class or problems you are having with certain topics. If they know you exist, then you are more likely to get help.
4. Bring your own lunch: Food here is pricey at times and it costs a lot to eat anyway. Save yourself a few bucks and bring your own lunch. That way, if the food sucks, you don’t blow any more money than you had to on it, and if it’s awesome, you get a tasty lunch for cheap.
5. Study: I know, I know, but only the nerdy kids study. But hitting the books is the best way to pass a class and pick up some cool knowledge. You don’t have to spend crazy amounts of time studying; just an hour or two a day, or however much you need to get the homework done and get ready for the next class meeting.
6. Use the school: If you feel like you are falling behind in a class or do not fully understand something, then go to the Learning Center. They have math and English tutors to help you pass your classes.
