Throughout Skyline’s fog or shine, what can have more dine-in comfort than authentic Mexican? Being an all-time college favorite, burritos and tacos are convenient to eat, fairly inexpensive, and utterly filling. Located just down the hill of Sharp Park is a homey family owned taqueria known as El Grano de Oro.
Owned by the family of Skyline student Izaias Garcia, El Grano’s 22 years of service has proved its loyalty to the public. Despite the peaceful atmosphere, Pacifica locals continue to line up for El Grano’s delicacies.
“We’ve been having regulars for years,” said Garcia, who’s worked at the family-owned business since junior-high. “I guess it’s the fact that we’re completely authentic.”
Moreover, Garcia especially credits the efforts of his aunts, the Garcia sisters, and their labor of love devoted to the restaurant. In addition to their large customizable menu, the workers’ amiable manner is completely welcoming.
The taqueria offers a multitude of entrée choices, including different preparations of beef, pork, and chicken. In addition to burritos and tacos, El Grano caters to various appetites with large platters of enchiladas, tostadas, and chiles rellenos as well. Whatever your mood decides upon, all are guaranteed flavorsome and tender.
El Grano also hasn’t failed the taste test of veggie lovers. Feel free to modify any selection to your liking. Just like their premium cuts of meat, the restaurant only offers the ripest avocados and hearty salsa.
As a thirst quencher, a plethora of canned beverages are easily accessible for all customers, but don’t fail to notice their fresh horchata, a milk and cinnamon delicacy known to supplement any Mexican meal.
For decades, El Grano has known to attract college students, families, and those deciding to dine solo with their fresh, hearty meals, excellent service, and convenient location. Next time you’re in the mood for a Mexican treat, stray away from Taco Bell’s border and dine in El Grano de Oro Taqueria for an authentic Mexican feast.
