This week, I bring you a lovely, funky band that doesn’t really have a single genre. This band is more a combination of emo-techno-punk-dance-music. These guys bring the rock and bring it in a really awesome way. With catchy hooks and guitar driven songs, you can not help but want to rock out when you are listening to “Panic! At the Disco”.
The boys of “Panic! At the Disco” have been playing together since they were 12 years old. When they reached high school they all but scraped by because at that point they had been signed by the labels Decadence/Fueled By Ramen.
Soon after they graduated from high school, Ryan Ross (guitar) dropped out of college, and the boys moved on to record their debut album “A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out.” This is a wonderfully diverse album with a mix of electronic music and almost classic sounding rock.
Their brand of music makes you feel like you should be doing something around the lines of moshing and dancing around like a madman. It also has the feel that makes it perfect for speeding down the highway while looking out a grimy car window as you watch the world whiz by. Or you could listen as you sit around thinking about that one great love that got away and you can still feel with the tips of your fingers.
“Panic! At the Disco” is one of those bands that are so good they will either last the test of time and go on to do great things with their music ; or because they are too good simply fade away. I certainly hope it is not the latter, because “Panic! At the Disco” not only has a lot of potential, but a lot of talent as well, and you should check them out for they truly do rock out loud.
