So it’s that time of year again. That’s right, Halloween. This happens to be my favorite time of year filled with parties, candies and costumes. I love this time of year because I love dressing up in fun costumes and playing around with my friends. Now some people feel that one must grow up as they get older and do things in a grown up fashion. But does this mean the death of Halloween fun once you get to a certain age? I say no, no it does not, because growing up does not mean you have to stop having fun, it just means new kinds of fun for people.
I have noticed over the time that I have been going here that fewer people are dressing up for Halloween. Now I am pretty sure most of you go to parties and hang out with your friends. But why not rock the Halloween spirit to campus? I know that we are supposed to be serious students but I believe that one can take their classes just as seriously dressed as a zombie with gaping flesh wounds, or a pretty, pretty princess, or even Santa Claus handing out candy canes to his classmates.
Now on Halloween I think it would be rad to see the student and even the teacher populations come to school in costume. It would add a touch of fun to our day, don’t you think? I know I do and I also know you will see a lot of us here at The Skyline View coming out in full costumed force.
Just think about it: Halloween is the one day of the year where you can be anything you want to be; if you’re a goodie two shoes you can be the bad ass. If you’re the bad ass you can be a nerd. You could be the devil or an angel, if you’re a guy you can be a girl, whatever your fancy may be.
So on Halloween don’t be scared that people will look at you funny if you dress up. Because the whole point of the holiday is to give people something funky to look at. So don’t be scared pull out all the stops and show up to school in costume on Halloween.
