“MVP Baseball 2004” hit the stores March 10 for platforms Playstation 2, XBOX, Game Cube, and the PC. The game has features like “EA Sports” swing system, big play control, manager mode, and many others.”EA Sports” swing system allows the player to put the bat on the ball and getting the perfect swing and lets the skilled users put the best the pitchers has to offer into play to generate offense. With manager mode you can control the game from the dugout using a set of strategic per-at-bat decisions. When your team is at the plate you can call the steal, have your batter lay down the sacrifice bunt or try to hit a homerun. Also your pitchers can go after the hitter, pitch around him, or you can get conservative and call the intentional walk. “Big play” control has users bring complete control to the diamond as players can make sliding catches, make fence-jumping catches to rob a homerun, double play break-ups, and collisions at home plate. One of the nice new features in the game is a game mode called “Pitcher Showdown” where you can choose your favorite pitcher and go head to head against the top hitters in the league and try to strike them out. There’s also is another game mode called “Homerun Showdown” where you can be the top hitters in baseball and try to beat your opponent by hitting the ball the longest distance. The most noticeable change comes in the dynasty mode where you can play in the minor leagues for the first time in the game. It features 60 minor league teams and it lets you take the field with such teams like the Durham Bulls and Toldeo Mud Hens. In “MVP Baseball 2004″ you can play in such ballparks like Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park, old stadiums like Tiger Stadium, and the Houston Astrodome. You can also play in retro jerseys like the multi-colored Houston Astros jersey, Milwaukee Brewers blue jersey and many others.”MVP Baseball 2004” will be a great game to play before the baseball season begins. Unfortunately, Barry Bonds won’t be in the video game.
