The Skyline volleyball team lost their third straight contest on Nov. 14 to West Valley College. The Trojans lost in three straight rounds by scores of 30-19, 33-31, and 30-13. The team did not come with much offense as Traci Laeha led the team with 14 kills, while no other Trojan player reached double digits in kills. The team also posted just two total blocks.
“We just haven’t been consistent lately and our play has reflected that,” said Head Coach Jan Fosberg.
On Nov.12, the Trojans lost again, this time to San Jose City College. The game was slightly more competitive. San Jose won the first two rounds of the match by scores of 30-23 and 30-22. Skyline did manage to win the third round by a score of 33-31 but fell short in the fourth round by a score of 30-13. Marie Cabugos led the team with a .333 attack percentage.
“We did a good job of battling back in the third round but unfortunately we could not keep the momentum going to even it up in round four,” Fosberg said.
As previously reported, the Trojans lost to Ohlone College on Nov. 5 in five rounds. After winning the first two rounds of that match, they ended up losing the last three.
With a win over Cabrillo College on Nov. 19, Skyline finished their season with a record of 6-8. This record will not qualify them for post-season play in the North Coast Conference.
