Often when a student becomes very stressed out in school, eating properly becomes a thought of the past. Cafeterias, book stores, and on campus café’s offer students food, yet most of the time it is not the healthiest option. Greasy cheeseburgers, fries, and sodas overflowing with sugars are not the best foods that you can eat. I’ll admit it – some days I cave and end up buying fat filled foods just because it’s easily accessible.
If you want to eat healthy, here are some ways that you can better your eating habits while you’re at school:
1. Bring your own lunch – instead of buying lunch all the time, try bringing your own healthier lunch. Make a vegetarian sandwich or bring a salad with chopped chicken or eggs for protein.
2. Snack often and avoid eating larger, heavier meals – snack on vegetables such as chopped carrots or bell peppers with salad dressings to help liven up the taste.
3. Stay hydrated – drink water instead of sodas. Despite the fact that sugary sodas do offer you a quick sugar rush, they often leave you thirstier than when you first started off. Drink water to avoid becoming dehydrated, and drink it often.
In addition to eating well, getting regular exercise and staying in shape is also recommended.
