This is the type of book that makes a person want to crawl into bed and hide underneath the covers. Without a doubt, this is one of the best suspense books to date.
A crazed man is on the loose, setting women on fire in a wooded Minneapolis park. First, he performs sexual acts on them, and then he sets their bodies ablaze. He has already raped and burned three women and doesn’t plan on stopping there. But a woman witnessed his attack on the third victim-she won’t talk. Kate Conlan, a former FBI agent turned victim witness advocate is in over her head when she is left to deal with a young naïve witness. To top it all off, she also has to deal with pig-headed superiors and an FBI agent who happens to be her ex-lover. Kate is the only one who has what it takes to stop this killer, yet she is the one woman who the killer wants next.
Author Tami Hoag has definitely done her homework on psychopaths. She brings to one’s imagination people and fears we never thought possible. Hoag definitely knows her ways around the typewriter and keeps you on the edge of your seat.
This book is filled with thrills and chills. You just do not want to put it down for a minute. It is definitely a page-turner that just keeps you coming back for more. If you like mysteries or suspense thrillers, then “Ashes to Ashes” is the book for you.
