Relieve some stress with a good laugh at the production.

“Avenue Q.” Skyline’s 3rd annual spring musical Avenue Q is set for production the weekend of April 25-27, bringing comedy to serious and prominent topics college students may experience.

“It addresses a lot of typical issues that your average college student faces and the different characters you run into,” Angelica Tam, stage manager, said. “It’s kind of a post college Sesame Street.”

Times are set for Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the main theater, and Sunday at 2 p.m. also in the theater. Tickets are $10 at the door or $5 presale through the bookstore, online, or from cast or crew member.

Latino American Student Organization is hosting a benefit concert Friday May 2, with Skyline’s Urban Youth Society members Maximilion and Serge, along with Mexican singer Olga Zunig and dancers Destuctores and Los Plebles Manosos confirmed to perform.

There will also be a raffle and prizes at the event. The proceeds from the concert will benefit student empowerment by helping fund scholarship opportunities for Latin-American students seeking higher education, according to President of LASO Liliana Alarcon. Tickets are priced for $10 at the door or $5 presale. Event starts at 6 p.m.

*The deadline for submitting the packet for office has been extended, per John Saenz, interim assistant of the Career for Student Life and Leadership Development office. The extension was made possible “so that candidates may meet the eligibility requirements, one of them being to attend a ASSC meeting. We did not get the turnout that we wanted to,” said Saenz. The tentative dates are now that the candidate packets are due May 1.
