Giants start season with away games
The Giants are back in Arizona and this time it’s for keeps.
That’s right, the Giants’ season started this week with an away game at Arizona.
Madison Bumgarner started the season against Arizona righty, Josh Collmenter.
After finishing last season with an electrifying win in the seventh game of the World Series, it’s no surprise that Bumgarner stepped up to the mound first for the 2015 season.
Unfortunately, some players won’t be seen on the field for a few weeks. Starter Erik Cordier, post-season hero Travis Ishikawa, and returning outfielder Hunter Pence are all on the disability list for 15 days and will be inactive during that time.
The Giants won’t be home for the season’s opening day game until April 13. Opening day will be against the Colorado Rockies. If you want to be there to enjoy the roaring crowd and San Francisco sunshine, however, tickets are selling for $126, and that’s just for standing room.
Don’t worry though; there will be plenty of games to enjoy after the Giants return from seven away games in the beginning of this season.
