With last week’s headlines in fantasy about how the quarterback’s injuries were hurting the team; not this week, the quarterbacks was the highlight of this week’s fantasy and game highlights.
Cam Newton was back to his old self during Monday Night Football on Nov. 26. After early struggles this season left many in doubt about his demeanor, character and if he was really ready to play in the NFL. Over the course of the game, Newton proved why he was the first overall draft pick in 2011. He showcased all his superior athletic talent. The combination of his running ability and throwing with strength and accuracy showed why he had earned himself the nickname “Superman.”
With Alex Smith being sidelined on Sun. Nov. 25 due to a concussion, it was backup quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s time for his first starting professional football game. Kaepernick, who had played in other games this season, had never started a game before and was set to take on the Saints. Kaepernick displayed his athletic abilities and proved that he can be an NFL quarterback. The combination of offense and defense proved to be too much for the Saints in a 31-21 loss.
