President Hausman is in favor of the selection process because she feels that there may be difficulties if the Board were to operate without a President due to an election. According to the Board Minutes on the SMCCD website, President Hausman said that the process would not take much time and did not seem complicated.
The rest of the Board will wait to further discuss the selection process of the next President during the Board meeting. They would also like to have an opportunity for public input prior to any final decisions.
