Skyline College may be reviving the two decade-old Drama class come this Fall due to the consistent demand for the department.
The class has been in demand from students at Skyline for years as evidence by its active Theater Club. There has been question as to whether a drama department would flourish at Skyline, especially with an active theater department only a few miles away at Cañada. However, the student body has spoken for itself with the multiple productions and two musicals done completely by student initiative.
Although there was a Stagecraft class added to the class schedule a year ago, there hasn’t been a true drama class that focuses on acting or theater arts for over two decades. One of the biggest bars for the revival of this class is the official designation of an instructor. There are rumors as to who might be able to fulfill this requirement, but there has been no official comment as of this writing.
