San Mateo County Community College District Bond measure H, a measure that could provide a large sum of funding for district schools, will be up for election on November 8, 2011.
The measure proposes issuing $560 million in bonds to the district. The money would also be subject to “interest rates within legal limits, with annual independent audits, local control over proceeds and a citizens’ committee providing oversight,” according to the measure.
The money is intended for use in a number of areas including improving earthquake and fire safety, updating classroom technology, and improving job training labs and facilities and the energy efficiency of the recipient campuses.
The measure requires a 55% voter approval to be enacted.
