The fire alarm in building 7 went off at around 12:45 prompting public safety and fire officials to launch an investigation.
The investigations started when officials arrived on the scene at exactly 12:50 and ended at 12:59. According to Public Safety officer S. Cornejo the alarm was pulled on the west side of Building 7 on the third floor.
The investigation lasted nine minutes during which it was determined that someone has simply pulled the fire alarm according to Public Safety officer Leo Khersonskiy of San Mateo.
Students were let in immediately and resumed class after the investigation ended. It was speculated by some students in the crowd that the reason the alarm was pulled was a student’s attempt to get out of a test. This marks the second time in a year that the Building 7 third floor alarm was pulled during class, the last time being October 28, 2010.
In similar fashion students were evacuated from their class by officials and were let back in the same amount of time give or take a few minutes.
